LEGO has revealed its most ambitious LEGO Art set yet: 31221 Gustav Klimt – The Kiss, a 4,000-piece brick mosaic of one of art history's most famous paintings, arriving 4 August 2026 (with early access for LEGO Insiders from 1 August) at a US RRP of $299.99.

The masterpiece behind the set
Painted during Klimt's celebrated "Golden Period" (1907–08), The Kiss shows a couple locked in an embrace, wrapped in gold-leaf robes on a flower-strewn meadow. Klimt contrasts the two figures with pattern — the man's robe in black-and-white rectangles, the woman's in colourful circles and blooms — a hallmark of Art Nouveau. LEGO has partnered with Vienna's Belvedere Museum, home of the original, to translate it into brick.

What makes this LEGO Art set special
At 4,000 pieces, this is the largest "world painting" LEGO Art has produced. To capture Klimt's signature gold-leaf shimmer the designers lean heavily on metallic-gold elements, and build up layers of brick to give the piece genuine 3D relief rather than a flat panel. The lovers' pose, the geometric robes and the scattered flowers are recreated with specially shaped parts and printed elements — right down to a faithful reproduction of Klimt's signature in the lower right.

A standout is a first-for-the-series wall-alignment feature: removable bricks let the finished artwork double as a template, so you can level it against the wall and mark or drill through pre-set holes before clicking the surface bricks back on — a real quality-of-life upgrade for a display piece this size.
