Only if the sets you were going to buy cost about the same everywhere. LEGO 40899 Astro Bot (276 pieces) is free with any order of €150 or more at LEGO.com until 7 October 2026 — and PlayStation also sells it on its own for €19.99 plus €4.99 shipping. So the gift is worth at most €24.98 to you: what it costs to get it separately.
That turns the decision into one subtraction. If your basket costs more than €24.98 extra at LEGO.com than at the cheapest European store, skip the gift, buy the sets elsewhere and order Astro Bot from PlayStation. If the difference is smaller, take the gift.
For most LEGO sets the difference is bigger. Across the 586 in-production sets we price at three or more European stores, the cheapest store sells at a median 29.2% below LEGO's RRP — and on 410 of them (70%) the discount is larger than the 16.7% the gift is worth on a €150 order.

The answer for October's new sets
LEGO.com sells at RRP. "Elsewhere" is the cheapest tracked price at any other European store today.
| Basket | LEGO.com | Cheapest elsewhere | Extra you pay at LEGO.com | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 75457 Executor Super Star Destroyer | €749.99 | €749.00 | €0.99 | Take the gift |
| 21373 Downton Abbey | €299.99 | €285.00 | €14.99 | Take the gift |
| 72306 PlayStation | €159.99 | €152.99 | €7.00 | Take the gift |
| 21371 Wallace & Gromit + 40868 Up-Scaled Red Minifigure | €179.98 | €189.98 | −€10.00 (LEGO.com is cheaper) | Take the gift |
| 11379 Bookstore: Book Nook + 76787 Wednesday Backpack | €169.98 | €130.48 | €39.50 | Buy elsewhere |
| 76352 New Avengers Tower + 76347 Quinjet | €169.98 | €132.71 | €37.27 | Buy elsewhere |
| 72154 Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball | €259.99 | €199.99 | €60.00 | Buy elsewhere |
The pattern is clean. The sets LEGO keeps close — the Executor, Downton Abbey, Wallace & Gromit, the PlayStation console, the Up-Scaled Red figure — sell at or near RRP everywhere, so LEGO.com costs you little or nothing and the gift is a real extra. The sets every store stocks — Avengers: Doomsday, Wednesday, Pokémon, the Book Nook — are already 21–24% cheaper at third-party stores, and that discount is worth more than the gift.
Buying the Executor this week? You get two gifts
75457 Executor Super Star Destroyer (6,130 pieces, €749.99) also comes with 40897 Darth Vader's Lightsaber (174 pieces, a buildable hilt on a display stand) when bought at LEGO.com from 1 to 7 October, and LEGO is giving double Insiders points on selected Star Wars sets over the same week. The cheapest third-party price we can find is €749.00 at bol — 99 cents less. For this one set, LEGO.com is simply the best place to buy it this week.
Getting Astro Bot without the €150 order
PlayStation sells the set on its own: €19.99 in the German PlayStation Store, plus €4.99 shipping, limited to one per PlayStation account (you need an account to order). Other countries' PlayStation stores may differ, so check yours. That delivered price, €24.98, is the number to compare against — the gift is only "free" if buying at LEGO.com doesn't cost you more than that.
Check your own basket in under a minute
- Add up your LEGO.com basket. It has to reach €150 for the gift.
- Look each set up on BrickPrice and add up the cheapest prices instead.
- If the LEGO.com total is more than €24.98 higher, buy elsewhere and order Astro Bot from PlayStation. If not, take the gift.
Insiders points earned at LEGO.com tip close cases slightly further towards LEGO.com; we leave them out because their value depends on how you redeem them.

Method: LEGO.com prices are LEGO's eurozone RRP. "Cheapest elsewhere" is the lowest euro price at any tracked non-LEGO store, refreshed within the last 30 days, on 3 October 2026. The 586-set figure covers sets LEGO still sells (status "retail" or "retiring soon") with a known European RRP and at least three stores listing them. Gift dates and the PlayStation price are from LEGO's and PlayStation's own listings as reported on 1–3 October 2026. BrickPrice earns a small commission when readers buy through some retailer links, at no extra cost to you. Which store we name as cheapest is decided by price alone.
