LEGO has revealed 42235 Ferrari 488 Pista, an 882-piece Technic supercar that lands 1 August 2026 at a US RRP of $64.99 — and under its bodywork sits a working V8 with moving pistons and a differential.

The car behind the set
The Ferrari 488 Pista is the track-focused, hardcore version of Ferrari's 488 line — pista is Italian for "track". Its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 makes 720 hp and takes it from 0–100 km/h in a scarcely believable 2.85 seconds, making it one of the most aggressive road cars Ferrari has ever built. That motorsport DNA is exactly what this Technic model sets out to capture.

What the LEGO Technic version does
The 882-piece build recreates the 488 Pista's low, wide stance and layers in Technic's signature working functions:
- Openable engine cover revealing a V8 engine with moving pistons
- A differential driving the rear wheels, mirroring how power reaches the road on the real car
- Steering the front wheels via a roof-mounted knob
- Opening doors that show off the detailed cockpit
