LEGO has revealed its next 1/8-scale Technic flagship: the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear (42232) — a 4,104-piece hypercar that follows the McLaren P1 in Technic's premium supercar line, arriving 1 July 2026 at $449.99.

The specs

  • Set: LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear (42232)
  • Pieces: 4,104
  • Price: $449.99 USD (EU price to be confirmed — expect roughly €450)
  • Release: 1 July 2026
  • Built size: about 15 cm tall x 59 cm long x 28 cm wide
  • Scale: 1/8, finished in Koenigsegg's black-and-orange livery

"Ghost Mode" — the headline trick

The standout feature is a synchronized mechanical sequence LEGO calls Ghost Mode. Lift the rear cover and the front hood plus the car's signature dihedral (rotating) side doors glide open together, while the mirrors fold away — one fluid motion that shows off the gear mechanism underneath. It's the first time the 1/8 Technic line has linked all of that into a single action.

Under the bodywork

Like the rest of the 1/8 range, it's loaded with working detail:

  • A V8 piston engine that moves as the wheels turn
  • Third-element suspension front and rear
  • A 9-speed gearbox with a selectable gear-indicator dial, so you can watch the gears change as you shift
  • Folding wing mirrors

A LEGO car you can actually drive

To launch the partnership, LEGO and Koenigsegg built a drivable, 1:1 replica from 327,906 LEGO bricks — a full-size Sadair's Spear you can climb into and drive.

Launch gift-with-purchase: the steering wheel (40894)

Tied to the launch, LEGO is running a Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear Steering Wheel (40894) gift-with-purchase — a display model finished in the same black-and-orange livery. See the full 40894 steering wheel breakdown.

Price & where to buy

At $449.99 this sits among LEGO's premium Technic sets, and the 1/8 flagships have a strong record of retiring and then climbing on the secondary market — so launch-day retail is usually the cheapest it will ever be. When 42232 lists across European retailers, BrickPrice will track its live price at LEGO.com, Amazon and 40+ EU stores so you can grab the best deal from day one — and you'll be able to ❤️ watch it to get an email the moment the price drops.
