Gift-with-purchase sets are a quiet way to get extra value from an order. In October 2026 LEGO launched 40899 Astro Bot, a small build of the PlayStation game mascot, as a free gift tied to the launch of the new LEGO PlayStation console (72306).

Details

How the offer worked. According to Stone Wars, the 276-piece Astro Bot was added to the cart automatically when you spent at least EUR 150 (or the equivalent in other currencies) from 1 October 2026, whatever you bought. Toys N Bricks lists the promotion as running 1-7 October 2026. That means the window has ended as of today, 16 October.

Why GWPs matter for price tracking. A free set changes the real cost of an order. If you were planning to buy a EUR 150+ basket anyway, the gift was effectively free. Because GWPs are never sold separately by LEGO, they often appear on resale sites at prices that have nothing to do with the original zero cost.

If you missed it. LEGO regularly repeats the pattern: a spend threshold, a short window, and a small themed set. Watch the promotions page on LEGO.com, and in particular the Insiders Weekend (21-22 November 2026) and Black Friday weekend (27-30 November 2026) when extra gifts are common. We cannot confirm that any specific gift will return.

Who is it for?

PlayStation fans, collectors who like small display pieces, and anyone who would have been spending EUR 150+ anyway. Not worth paying a big premium for on the secondary market unless you are a completist.

Buying tip

Do not pay inflated resale prices in a hurry. Use BrickPrice.eu to see what the box normally costs when it appears second-hand, and bundle your regular purchases around LEGO's next gift promotion instead.
