The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program returns for its eighth series, with pre-orders for five new fan-designed sets opening 10 June 2026 and running for one week, closing 18 June 2026 (or earlier if a set sells out). European prices run from €79.99 for the smallest set to €359.99 for the largest. Below: every set, its price across regions, a value-per-brick breakdown, and how the crowdfunding model actually works before you commit.

The five Series 8 sets

Set Pieces Designer price (EUR) UK US
[910068] University of Science 3,991 €359.99 £329.99 $359.99
[910064] Dustmark Keep 3,960 €349.99 £319.99 $349.99
[910065] Coconut Cape 2,384 €209.99 £189.99 $209.99
[910066] Brick Railroad Locomotive 1,348 €119.99 £109.99 $119.99
[910067] Hot Air Balloon 883 €79.99 £69.99 $79.99

Value per brick — which set stretches your euro furthest

The BrickLink Designer Program prices each set higher per piece than mainstream LEGO retail, because these are low-volume, crowd-funded runs rather than mass-produced sets. That premium is the cost of owning a fan design LEGO chose not to mass-produce. Still, the value ranking is worth knowing before you pick:

  • Coconut Cape — 8.81 ct/brick (€209.99 / 2,384 pieces) — the best raw value in the series.
  • Dustmark Keep — 8.84 ct/brick (€349.99 / 3,960 pieces) — near-identical value at nearly double the part count.
  • Brick Railroad Locomotive — 8.90 ct/brick (€119.99 / 1,348 pieces).
  • University of Science — 9.02 ct/brick (€359.99 / 3,991 pieces) — the largest set by piece count.
  • Hot Air Balloon — 9.06 ct/brick (€79.99 / 883 pieces) — the smallest set carries the highest per-brick cost, which is typical: small sets amortise fixed costs over fewer parts.

For context, a mainstream LEGO Icons set at full RRP usually lands around 7–9 ct/brick, so Series 8 sits at the upper edge of normal — fair for a limited fan-designed run, but not a discount.

How the pre-order model works (read this before you buy)

The BrickLink Designer Program is crowdfunding, not a normal storefront purchase. Three rules matter:

  1. Minimum 3,000 pre-orders per set. If a set doesn't hit 3,000 orders during the window, it isn't produced and pre-orders are refunded. Popular sets clear this easily; niche ones occasionally don't.
  2. Maximum 30,000 units per set, limit 2 per household. Once a set sells out, the window closes for it early — there's no restock and no aftermarket guarantee at retail price.
  3. Dynamic production numbers. LEGO can reallocate manufacturing capacity between the five sets based on demand, so a set that's tracking strongly may get more units while a slow one is capped.

Estimated shipping is November 2026 — roughly five months after pre-order. You pay now and wait.

Should you pre-order?

Because these are limited runs, the decision is less about today's price and more about whether you want the set at all — there's no waiting for a discount. BrickLink Designer Program sets have historically held or gained value on the secondary market after they sell out, especially the larger architectural builds (University of Science and Dustmark Keep this round fit that profile). If a set speaks to you, the pre-order window is realistically your one shot at retail price.

If you're on the fence purely on value, Coconut Cape offers the best per-brick figure, and the Hot Air Balloon is the lowest absolute entry point at €79.99.

A note on tracking

These sets are BrickLink exclusives, sold directly through the Designer Program — they don't appear in BrickPrice's standard 40-retailer comparison (which tracks LEGO.com and mainstream European stores). We're flagging Series 8 here because the pre-order window is short and the pricing context is useful, but you'll order directly via BrickLink, not through a price-comparison link.
